(WATERLOO) - Former Senator John Edwards said he supports congressional efforts to censure President Bush.

Edwards, a former Democratic vice-presidential candidate, was campaigning for legislative candidates in Iowa this past weekend.

Edwards pointed to reports that Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney authorized leaking the identity of CIA agent Valerie Plame as evidence the Bush administration is out of control. He said it was a perfect example of why Democrats need to regain control of Congress.

The White House has not denied those claims, saying only that the president has the power to declassify information.
